AAH Pharmaceuticals adds 20 new electric vans to reduce carbon emissions
Leading pharmaceutical wholesaler AAH Pharmaceuticals Ltd has introduced 20 new electric vans to its delivery fleet, marking a significant step forward in its Carbon Reduction Plan, which is aligned to the NHS net zero targets.
Eighteen of the new electric vehicles have been deployed at the AAH distribution centre in Ruislip, with the remaining two now in operation at its Glasgow branch. To support the rollout, AAH has implemented a training programme to ensure the safety of drivers as well as the medicines that they are transporting.
“Last year we made the decision to switch to renewable energy sources,” said John Clark, chief operating officer at AAH, emphasising that any deliveries made via EV vehicle will be Net Carbon Zero. “I think it’s important both for the business and for our customers that we are conscious of our reduction plan in terms of how much carbon we’re emitting.” “This addition of the new electric vehicle fleet shows that we are committed to finding more sustainable solutions, and to aligning with our customers,” he added.
Chris Emmott, head of fleet and sustainability at AAH, reaffirmed the company’s pledge to become Net Zero by 2045.
“We’ve made huge steps in reducing our carbon emissions for Scope 1 and 2, through our commercial vehicle fleet.”
