In January 2010, Ranveer Singh was called for an audition by Shanoo Sharma who is the head of the casting division of Yash Raj Films. The audition proved to be impressive and he was selected by Aditya Chopra to do the lead role in their film Band Baaja Baraat with Anushka Sharma. His role was of Bittoo Sharma the hero of the film as a typical Delhi boy. The film was a sleeper hit and Bittoo’s role that he played was praised as a perfect one for Ranveer.
